MCIU EVENT TERMS & CONDITIONS

WITHDRAWAL/BILLING PROCEDURES

Participants must log into their registration account at mciu.gosignmeup.com and DROP/CANCEL their enrollment.
Participants who DROP/CANCEL registration (as specified above) 7 or fewer calendar days prior to the day of the event or are a NO SHOW will be invoiced the full amount of the registration fee.
Participants who DROP/CANCEL registration (as specified above) 8 or more calendar days prior to the day of the event will not be charged.
For asynchronous courses ONLY, participants will receive a full refund if cancellation request is received within 7 calendar days of the initial registration and is made prior to logging into the asynchronous/self-paced course. Participants will not be issued a refund for cancellation once they have logged into the online learning system.

ATTENDANCE, EVALUATION COMPLETION & ACT 48 REPORTING

MCIU will report Act 48 hours for participants who provide a PPID number and also comply with the following:

Sign in at the start of the event and attend the session in its entirety.
Complete the ONLINE EVALUATION within ONE WEEK after the event. Log into your account to complete the evaluation.
No exceptions will be made.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

MCIU reserves the right to cancel any event.
Update your profile regularly. Participants are notified of cancellations via the email address provided within the participant's account profile.

Designing Classroom Spaces for Success

This is a self-paced course with rolling open enrollment until July 31st.

Structured Teaching aligns with the characteristics of autism, utilizing visual supports to establish predictable routines that are both meaningful and practical for learners. This approach clarifies the environment, reduces anxiety, and helps students with autism stay engaged for longer periods. By fostering these routines, students improve their receptive language skills and experience a decrease in problem behaviors. Visual supports also clarify behavioral expectations, establish consistency, and promote independence. Additionally, classrooms implementing Structured Teaching often see students developing essential life skills and a strong work ethic.

Intended Audience: Grade K-12 Teachers, Administrators, Coaches, and Paraprofessionals

This course if funded through IDEA-B at no additional cost to our member districts.
