MCIU has partnered with Grassroots Workshops to report Act 48 continuing professional education credits for Pennsylvania educators. The actual workshop registration takes place through Grassroots Workshops this registration and payment is for Act 48 credit reporting only.



Grassroots Workshops will provide a Certificate of Completion directly to participants upon workshop completion. All participants are responsible for forwarding their Certificate of Completion to courses@mciu.org within 30 days of workshop completion to have their Act 48 reported to the state. The number of hours awarded will be determined based on the number of hours verified by Grassroots Workshops. The $25.00 fee for Act 48 reporting is separate from any registration charges incurred through Grassroots Workshops. All requests for Act 48 credit must be made within 30 days of workshop completion.

A Primer: Phonological Awareness, Phonics, and Fluency

ADHD and the Brain
This is a self-paced module with rolling enrollment open until June 30th.

ADHD is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders of childhood. In this course, you will examine the structure of an ADHD brain to better understand the behaviors and learning styles of students with ADHD. This course will discuss the symptom overlap between Sensory Processing Disorder and ADHD and why students with ADHD may exhibit sensory processing difficulties. You will have the opportunity to explore activities to improve self-regulation, focus, and executive skills. Learn new strategies so your students with ADHD can thrive.

Analysis: TDA Basics
This is a self paced course with rolling open enrollment available until June 30th. 

This module is for teachers in tested grades to develop or firm up their foundational understanding of the skills that are taught in the area of analysis and how these skills are assessed on the PSSA with a TDA command. At the end of this module, participants will be able to define text-dependent analysis, understand why analysis matters, identify the components of a TDA command in the PSSA, and identify the skills needed for analysis.
